Prof. Jon Kabat-Zinn, the author of MBSR, on mindfulness:

If you are an English speaker, chances are that not much has to be explained here, as you probably heard and read about mindfulness training, and perhaps even MBSR, long before reading these lines. You may have already tried it yourself. Today, there are many possibilities in the USA and Western Europe to enter on this fine journey of self-development.

Mindfulness not only can bring you better focus, calm, inner balance and improved relationships, it has proven benefits on psychological as well as physical health, ranging from stress reduction, pain relief, reduction of symptoms, hypertension, better healing, to management of emotions, anxiety or depression. The body of research and literature, both popular and scientific, and media coverage of this topic are vast and growing.

My name is Jaroslav Chýle and I offer professional MBSR courses as taught by the Center for Mindfulness, University of Massachusetts Medical School in English, French or Czech. I also offer individual guidance based on the MBSR curriculum, as well as mindfulness workshops. The classes include various types of meditation, gentle yoga, education and group work. See the FAQs here: http://www.umassmed.edu/cfm/stress-reduction/faqs/

A qualified MBSR teacher, I have participated in the full teacher training program directed by experienced senior MBSR teachers, including Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn and Dr. Saki Santorelli, organized by the Center for Mindfulness in Massachusetts where MBSR originated in 1979. I am based in Prague, but the courses may be organized also in other places.

I have been training yoga and meditation for many years and currently study and research MBSR and other mindfulness-based interventions as a part of my master's degree in psychology. I have many years of experience from working in multinational companies in senior positions.

You can register for a standard MBSR course taught in English. Please contact me by email if you have any questions, wish to have an MBSR course in your company, receive individual training or to organize a workshop.

Short summary of scientific research of MBSR

Scientists from Harvard University and the University of Sienna found in a recent study that mindfulness meditation can change the physiology of our brain, resulting in positive changes like a decrease in anxiety and depression.
